Walked the Way Home

In the 1980s, soldiers started appearing on the streets of Paris. They were part of “Operation Pirate Vigil” which usually lasted a few months after a terrorist attack occurred, then the soldiers disappeared until the next attack. In 2015, they appeared in great numbers and stayed a while. They are still around four years later. This film is composed of short videos shot on my phone on my way home from the studio. When I moved to Rome, I found soldiers in the streets as well, and I met Alvin Curran. His song Walked the Way Home inspired me to edit these Instagram shots together into a film titled after Alvin’s song • ÉB
